This week was a little different from the rest because I was only at my internship on Thursday afternoon. On Monday we had presentations for our Story of Professional Learning. We all made videos answering the question “How do you integrate content in literacy, math, social studies, in a data-based, differentiated manner, into your classroom instruction?”. To answer this question, I took evidence from the semester that met these goals, combined them into a video and talked about my experiences. I would have to say, one of the biggest takeaways from this video project was realizing just how much I have done in my classroom. I have learned how to use data to drive my instruction, how to integrate the subjects, and how to differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of my students. Another amazing thing was seeing the growth of my students from implementing all of these strategies into the classroom. I got the chance to have an RTI group for fluency and I saw the growth in their fluency when I was able to use data to drive my instruction. I was able to have a small group for math instruction and see the effects that my instruction had on them. Being able to differentiate their instruction and using technology and manipulatives in the group really helped my students excel in mathematics. Overall, the Story of My Professional Learning really helped me realize all of the amazing things I got to be a part of this semester and all the growth my students have made.
For now, the spring semester is over. I am so proud of myself for taking the lead in teaching and seeing how much of a teacher I am really becoming. I am looking forward to the summer semester, so I can make grow as a teacher more and experience the end of the school year. And of course, see my amazing students again.
